ViacomCBS Upfront
In the television industry, an upfront is a gathering at the start of important advertising sales periods, held by television network executives and attended by major advertisers and the media. What made this year’s upfront special was that it marked the ad community’s first look at ViacomCBS. With CBS and Viacom’s assets and capabilities under one roof, they were expanding the value of content so that their partners could achieve more: more connections, more relevance, more effectiveness, and more revenue.

When considering the size of the event and the multiple assets that would be used to support the messaging, I knew I wanted to develop a visual language that could showcase the wide range of channels that ViacomCBS now has. I used the ViacomCBS channel logos as inspiration for the iconography that would be used in the design. I started by breaking down the logos into their simplest forms and then abstracting them so that they felt cohesive. They were then applied to digital assets as background elements and used as frames for videos paired with matching IPs.
